• May 31 – Dano-Norwegian settlers under Captain Jon Logerquist found the town of Sørlige Punkt (now called South Point). The town will transform into a piece of Gotham.
• June 9 – The English settle the Gotham Colony, founding Fort Clinton. The fort will transform into a piece of Gotham.
• October 15 – The English settle the Connecticut Colony, founding the town of Hartford.

• August 24 – As part of the Second Anglo-Dutch War, England captures New Netherland and renames it the Province of New York. The Kingdom of England's Province of New Jersey is created.

1665

• April 1 – The English settle the Province of New Jersey, founding Fort Joseph. The fort will transform into a piece of Blüdhaven.
• June 5 – The Dutch settlers found the town of Hackensack in the Kingdom of England's Province of New Jersey. The town will transform into a piece of Bergen County.

1666

• April 11 – The English settle the Province of New Jersey, founding the town of New Ark (now spelled Newark). The town will transform into a piece of Newark.
• May 10 – The English colony of Connecticut is subdivided into Fairfield County, Hartford County, Metropolis County, New Haven County, and New London County.

1674

• November 10 – As provided in the Treaty of Westminster of February 19, the Dutch Republic cedes its colony of New Netherland to the Kingdom of England. This includes the colonial capital, New Orange, which is returned to its English name of New York. The colonies of Berbice and Essequibo (now Guyana), and Suriname, remain in Dutch hands.

1683

• March 7 – East Jersey is partitioned into five counties for administrative purposes: Bergen County, Essex County, Hudson County, Middlesex County, and Monmouth County.
• November 1 – The English Province of New York is subdivided into Albany County, Cornwall County (now part of Maine), Duchess County (now spelled Dutchess), Dukes County (now part of Massachusetts), Kings County, New York County, Orange County, Queens County, Richmond County, Suffolk County, Ulster County, and Westhcester County.

1692

• March 31 – The English settle Westchester County, founding the town of Salem (now called Salem Center).
• June 10 – The English settle the Province of East Jersey, founding the town of Vriessendael (now called Bristol Township). The town will transform into a piece of the Bergen County.

1693

• May 7 – The English settle Fairfield County, founding the town of Happy Harbor.

1714

• March 11 – Hunterdon County is established, separating from the Province of New Jersey's Burlington County.

1739

• March 15 – Morris County is created from portion's of the Province of New Jersey's Hunterdon County.

1837

• February 7 – Passaic County is created from portions of New Jersey's Bergen County and Essex County.

1857

• March 19 – Union County is formed from portions of New Jersey's Essex County.

1874

• April 13 – Dutch settlers found the town of Holland Township in the Kingdom of England's Province of West Jersey. The town will transform into a piece of Hunterdon County.

1912

• March 19 – Blüdhaven is incorporated as a commonwealth.
