The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or Ninja Turtles for short, are a family of four anthropomorphic turtles and their allies. They were trained by their father and sensei, Master Splinter, in the art of ninjutsu, and named after four Renaissance artists. From their home in the storm sewers of New York, they battle petty criminals, evil overlords, the Hand, and alien invaders, all while remaining isolated from society - for the most part - to make sure that they don't become experimental fugitives.
